azula pencils by Sketchydeez azula pencils by Sketchydeez
quick little pencil sketch i did of azula, from the last air bender. felt like drawing something from the avatar world, but i always draw korra, so decided to draw someone i haven't before.

btw, this was done on regular white copy paper -- guess my phone's camera had some wacky setting to make it tinted blue.

update: took a new pic to get rid of the blue tint.

When I draw on paper it is always on normal printer paper. And I have to color adjust my images every time.

Its cool to see you do something from Avatar instead of Korra. Azula looks awesome! I love that smirk and that one of the eyebrows seems slightly higher. (Or more arched.) It gives her that smug look. :D Fun job with the fire touch too! :happybounce:

must have been something with the lighting -- took it in a really sunny room.

anyway, at some point i'll probably bug you on some tips to transition scan/pics of pencils to digital work in photoshop.

People underestimate room lighting. Cursed yellow lights! :shakefist:

In Photoshop bring up your picture. Go to Image and select Adjustments. These is where it changes depending on who you ask. I typically use levels. Make sure preview is checked, than I bring the black pointer over so I can see the lightest line, than I pull the white point in to get rid of the super dark. And the grey pointer is used to find a middle ground. You can readjust the white too so you can try for lighter. That is how I start.
